Image Compressor, Cropper and Converter
Shrink photos, crop to a ratio and switch formats without uploading a single byte.

About this tool
Choose an image and it is decoded, cropped and re-encoded locally with the Canvas API. You can limit the longest edge, pick an output format, tune JPEG or WebP quality, and crop to a fixed ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9.
Because everything happens in the tab, the tool works offline and no image reaches a server. Very large files are rejected or downscaled first so mobile browsers keep enough memory to finish the job.
How to use it
- Load an imagePick a file or drop it onto the dashed area. The original size and pixel dimensions are read immediately.
- Choose output settingsSet the format, quality and maximum edge. Cropping uses a centred, top, bottom, left or right anchor depending on your choice.
- Download the resultThe panel compares original and result size, then offers a download link. The preview is the exact image that will be saved.
Common questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Decoding, cropping and encoding happen in your browser. The page makes no request that carries image data.
Which format should I choose?
JPEG is smallest for photos, WebP is usually smaller still with good quality, and PNG preserves transparency but produces larger files.
Why was my image rejected?
Images above 45 megapixels are refused to avoid running out of memory. Images above 16 megapixels are downscaled to a safe size before encoding.
